Matting the Engraving
Then the Mat is bevel cut and laid over the engraving to help protect it.
- More than one mat can be cut and layered, in different colors
and shapes of cuts, to frame the engraving.
- Usually the engraving is hinged with acid free tape on the back to hold it in place.
