Printing "Sunlit"

From inking the plate to the finished engraving.

Lifting the felt from the plate Lifting the felt.

The felt has to be lifted off carefully after running the plate through the press to preserve the lines on the engraving.

The engraving, paper towels, felt and press bed move as a unit through the press to the other side as you turn the roller with the crank.

With the next engraving you can run it through going the other way after reinking and rewiping the engraving, then laying the fresh paper on.

Alternatively, you can remove the engraving and plate and wind it back with the crank to the original position to run it through in the same direction.

The engraving has to be reinked and rewiped before printing for each engraving.
